Yamaha's industry-leading
actions, keyboards and frames are manufactured
to the most exacting standards using carefully
selected materials.
For the soundboard, they use
premium, grand piano-grade Bavarian spruce from
Strunz in Germany. It is specially selected for
its even, tight grain, which delivers a strong,
consistent tone across the keyboard range. The
use of five back posts throughout the range
ensures optimum sound projection, while the
hammers employed on the RD3 are of the same high
quality as those used in the leading
Conservatoire Series upright instruments. It is
this uncompromising choice of materials, coupled
with meticulous construction in the UK factory,
that results in instruments of unrivalled
longevity, tuning stability and rich, resonant
tone.
RD1:
Inspired by the simple beauty of crystals and
transforming the ordinary into something
altogether more special, the Radius design team
has created a modern classic. RD1, with its
compact dimensions and eye-catching facets,
makes a bold statement for the contemporary
whilst embracing traditional values of
craftsmanship in harmonious unity.
RD2: When
not making music, a fine piano complements and
enhances a living space without dominating it.
RD2 was conceived to blend - with classical,
sculpted elegance - into a contemporary
environment. Its relaxing lines and timeless
qualities are all you would expect in a fine,
handcrafted piece of furniture. RD2 introduces
subtle innovations of design which fuse to
create a piano of great beauty.
RD3: RD3 is
a stunning new interpretation of Yamaha’s
100-year piano heritage. Conceived to move piano
design incrementally forward, this beautiful
instrument is the epitome of contemporary
expression and form - perfectly styled for
European living spaces. RD3 is the largest and
most sonorous of the Radius collection and to
augment its enhanced performance, utilises the
higher quality hammers from the Conservatoire
Series.
