Yamaha Silent Piano Grand
The Grand "Silent Piano"
system was designed to capture all the tonal
subtleties of the grand piano.
- Silencing Mechanism:
The shift of a lever keeps hammers from
striking the strings, while a small control
unit activates digital piano tones.
- Sensor systems:
Greyscale key, hammer, and pedal sensors
register every motion, including key-release
velocity.
- Action: Contact-free
optical sensing and a "QuickEscape" action
mechanism maintain natural touch and
response in both normal and "Silent Piano"
mode.
- Digital tone:
Ultra-realistic digital piano tones are AWM
stereo sampled from the CFIIIS Yamaha
concert grand.
- Memory: 30MB of memory
make it possible to reproduce the harmonics
of other strings when using the sustain
pedal.
- Connectors: MIDI, AUX,
and dual headphone jacks let you interact
with external equipment, play at controlled
volume through external speakers, play along
with audio accompaniment through headphones,
enjoy duets, and more.
- Reverb: Three
selectable reverb effects with continuous
depth control simulate chamber and hall
acoustics for an enhanced sense of spatial
realism.
